VILOX names Menard as defendant in escalating U.S. lawsuit against Mohawk

  • Menards stores offer for sale Mohawk’s Home Expressions accused of infringing VILOX’ U.S. Patent 12,180,717
  • VILOX will protect the interests of its licensed partners with decisive action against unauthorized use of its intellectual property

Helsingborg, Sweden, 29 January 2025 – VILOX, a technology company specializing in flooring and furniture installation solutions, filed a complaint before the US District Court for the District of Delaware on December 31st, 2024, against Mohawk Industries, Inc. The lawsuit involves allegations of infringement of a VILOX patent caused by Mohawk’s Home Expressions vinyl plank flooring utilizing an installation system from its subsidiary Unilin marketed as “Unidrop”.

On January 28, 2025, VILOX named Menard, Inc, owner of the retail chain Menards, as an additional defendant in the ongoing litigation. The reason is that the Menards stores are dealing in Mohawk’s Home Expressions without providing compensation for VILOX’ United States patent, US 12,180,717, which VILOX believes is being utilized.

In order to protect the interests of its licensed partners VILOX will continue to take decisive action against any unauthorized use of its intellectual property. However, VILOX remains dedicated to providing access to its click systems under fair and equitable terms.
